Several days ago I brought you the news that a sister to Oronto Douglas, one of the special advisers to President Goodluck Jonathan, had been kidnapped. Well, she is yet to be released and the kidnappers are demanding half a billion naira.
Kidnappers of Augusta Douglas-Ayam, the elder sister to the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Mr. Oronto Douglas, have demanded N500m from the Douglas family.
Her husband was contacted on the phone by the kidnappers who are insisting the family must pay a N500m ransom. Mrs Augusta was kidnapped from her shop Monday night by nine men who were dressed in military uniforms.
The head of the Douglas family, Romeo, has appealed to the kidnappers to release her unconditionally on humanitarian ground. Sad.
