If we were all to kill our friends once we got tired of them, I think the world’s population would have been decimated by now.

The second of two teen girls accused of luring their best friend into the woods and then stabbing her to death — allegedly because they didn’t like her anymore — has been publically identified and will be tried as an adult.

Prosecutors in Monongalia County, West Va., on Wednesday identified Shelia Eddy, 16, as one of the twisted teens behind the slaying of Skylar Neese, of Star City, her best pal since childhood.

Authorities said Eddy and another friend, Rachel Shoaf, 16, stabbed Neese to death in the woods near the Pennsylvania border on July 6, 2012.

The University High School honors student’s body was found six months later, in January 2013, hidden beneath some tree limbs.

Shoaf pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in May and is awaiting sentencing. She could get as many as 40 years in prison.

Eddy is expected to plead not guilty, prosecutors said.

Skylar’s parents were dreading the prospect of sitting through a trial.

“I don’t want to hear the grisly details of how Skylar was murdered,” said Skylar’s father, Dave Neese. “I don’t want to hear how she screamed and cried. But I do want these girls to get what they deserve.”

On the night she was killed, authorities say Skylar snuck out of a window in her family’s apartment and got into a car with Eddy and Shoaf.

The trio drove into the Pennsylvania woods, parked and got out of the car.

After a while, Eddy and Shoaf counted to three and then stabbed Neese to death.

Eddy and Shoaf managed to keep the slaying from investigators for months.

Eddy even joined the Neese family’s effort to find their daughter, going door-to-door and handing out flyers.

Shoaf eventually cracked in January and told police where they could find Skylar’s body.

She told police she and Eddy killed Neese because they didn’t want to be friends with her anymore.

Eddy is expected to be indicted on murder charges in the coming weeks.

Dave Neese called the pair “twisted, sick individuals.

“It seems like there should be some kind of closure, but it’s really not,” he said of the decision to charge Eddy as an adult.

“It kind of opens everything back up, and things had just started to quiet down for a little bit.”
