Timothy John Brewer has quit his post in the sheriff’s office and his father, Wesley Brewer, has quit as fire chief following the incident.
A Utah sheriff’s deputy pistol-whipped his dad in a booze-fueled rage after busting him having sex with his wife, police said.
Timothy John Brewer, 33, is accused of beating his father, Wesley, after catching him making out with his spouse, Logan Rae, in his young son’s bedroom.
Furious at the sick love triangle, he allegedly backhanded his wife then pointed a loaded gun at her head.
He then reportedly battered his pop — a respected Moab fire chief — with the pistol.
A terrified Logan fled to her parents’ house, while Wesley returned to his own home to “find a firearm.”
But his wife tried to hide the weapon, so he allegedly “grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed himself two times, puncturing a lung and slicing his liver.”
